Welcome to the FOGS Community (Redux)
I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you again to the Florida Obstetric and Gynecologic Society Community Website. We’ve been working hard for the past several months to bring a solution to the table that allows members not just to receive updates from the association; but to actually become the association via an interactive process through which you can communicate with each other, your elected officers and your management company about the issues that are most important to you.
The core unit of organization in this new paradigm is the group. We’ve started this site off with a few very general interest groups that we encourage you to join and participate in according to your interests. If the groups you see are too general, we hope you’ll free to start your own groups and ask your colleagues of similar interests to join you there. Groups facilitate sharing information, getting collaborative work done and soon will support the uploading and redistribution of resources such as clinical images, slide presentations and more.
If you’re not up to running and maintaining a group, that’s OK too. Perhaps you’d just like to discourse at some length on a topic of interest to you. Our site Blogs establish the perfect forum for doing so. Blogs can be on any topic and you can choose whether or not share your Blog with friends, site members or the general public.
And if you were attached to the old website, the good news for you is nothing about this is mandatory. The same content you have become accustomed to is not going away. Our look may be a little different and finding what you need is easier than ever before; but the association website as a source of information remains intact.
We have more exciting features planned for the relative near future so we hope you’ll drop by again soon. You can always reach me directly at webmaster@flobgyn.org with any questions you may have about our new look and features. I hope you’ll remember that the community we’re building for you here on the web will only be as dynamic as your participation in it.
